Pretty sure my Otterbox saved my phone

Full on fumbled my D1 into a full bucket of dirty mop water today!
I immediately yelled "OH NO!!," and filched it out of there. I shook it once, in one direction, and whipped off the Otterbox, the battery cover, and yanked the battery.
The phone was surprisingly dry, despite having been UNDERWATER for a few seconds. I gently blew it out with compressed air, then set it in my truck in the sun for a couple hours.
It booted right up, and everything seems to be fine. I'm pretty certain the rubber sheath under the hard plastic case kept most of the liquid from entering the back of the phone and rendering it dead!

You know its funny but I thought I was the only person who had anything good to say about the otterbox for the D1. I recommended it once on here and it didnt go over well. It was 8 months old when I retired it and the D1, never had a single issue with it.
