Full on fumbled my D1 into a full bucket of dirty mop water today!
I immediately yelled "OH NO!!," and filched it out of there. I shook it once, in one direction, and whipped off the Otterbox, the battery cover, and yanked the battery.
The phone was surprisingly dry, despite having been UNDERWATER for a few seconds. I gently blew it out with compressed air, then set it in my truck in the sun for a couple hours.
It booted right up, and everything seems to be fine. I'm pretty certain the rubber sheath under the hard plastic case kept most of the liquid from entering the back of the phone and rendering it dead!
