Yes, I did that in advance. I had been using google sync on my BB already.

I'm pretty impressed with the onscreen keyboard. I was not ready to give up a physical keyboard, and I'm still not, but this one is quite good. WAY better than the one I tried on my friend's BB Storm.

One thing you can do to get ready is import all of your contacts into your gmail account. Then they will automatically sync to your phone when you set it up.

Coming from a Storm helped me a lot.
It's better ( I've found ) when using the virtual keyboard to imagine as two boards. Left half and Right half. It's a little bit bigger than the screen on the Storm and it's taking me some time to get used to it. I over reach at times, hit the wrong key sometimes.
