Power button got wet

Hi, I am new here. I have a droid 1. a few weeks ago i spilled a little coffee on my power button. t seemed to be ok for a day but now the shutdown mode keeps popping up very often randomly. i used to have the power button set as the end call button. but it kept randomly hanging up my calls so i disabled that end call option. is there any way i can disable the power botton or maybe download an app to do that? i got rid of my insurance and the red moisture dot activated so the warranty is void now. the phone otherwise works great. it is a rooted phone and i hate to lose it. thanks to anyone that can help me

I am sure a script can be written to redirect the power button to the camera button but it would take some knowledge and skill -

thank you im not too knowlegable on scripts but maybe i can find something in the forums. thanks again
