power button doesnt work

Hi, im new to the droid forums and love my droid 2 but at the moment my power button has stopped working and i need help on how to fix it if you have any suggestions on how to fix it thanks in advance.

Sounds like hardware failure. You may need to swap it out for a refurb.

Have you had the phone for a year? The phone comes with a 1 year warranty for these kinds of things so if you haven't owned it for a year, your covered

I've had my phone since september so I think I'm still covered but will they still take it if it was rooted

You would have to unroot and put everything back to stock. Rooting isnt not really my strong spot with the phone so I'd have to direct you to someone like, droid DOES!!!, spaz33g, or furbearingmammal. They're the ones who have helped me most with my root problems

If you're rooted but never flashed a rom or theme its as simple as unrooting the phone and uninstalling any root apps.

Thanks I rooted it but never flashed it so ill be able to take it in with no problems

One last question though. Did you ever bootstrap cm recovery?

I don't know wat that is but I don't think I did

You would know if you did. It should be all good once you unroot and remove all the root apps then.

All I did is root it and nothing else other than try to wifi tether wich didn't work for me
