Which external battery charger do you recommend. I am talking about the ones that are basically batteries that are 4X or so the normal battery power and charge your battery as you are using them.

Ahh so someone else other than me thinking about getting a external battery as well.

My droid 4 battery: 1785 mAh. I suppose an external battery with 1800 mAh or higher should be good.

How many times can that charge the droid 4? Sometimes these lith-ion batteries are falsely advertised. They say 5000mAh and I ended up only being able to charge my Droid 4 like two times when It should charge close to three times.

It is working great.

I too have wondered about solar chargers while looking on ebay. What's not good is they take longer time to charge.. 10 hours or longer when a regular charger could do much less (1-5hours) depending on the product's battery and the sun.

ahoy ladds,

having a portable charger in your backpack is a life saver for sure. the thing is all batteries die eventually. so for basic city use, 10000-12000mAh charger sounds like an expensive choice imo. portable chargers with replaceable batteries maybe a better choice.
my humble opinion.
p.s. : i couldn't find a charger for my droid 4 either. please advise..

Amazon is not bad but i'll recommend wagawoo hear from my friends, for this those are famous for all kind of battery chargers like Industrial chargers, marine chargers, lithium packs and many more.

I tried this one posted on Amazon.

TimeTec 2 x 1800mAh Li-ion Batteries For Motorola Atrix 4G, ME860, MB860; Fits BH6X + Free Bonus TimeTec Multi-purpose USB Travel Charger

It's a combo pack, two 1800mAh battery with an external charger. Charging is fast. So it called travel charger. I just spent 20 something, so far so good since Nov. 2012. Share with you.

Charger

The first thing you need to address when selecting your external electric electric battery power is to select a charger that delivers at smallest the identical or greater yield in volts. The storage capability is significant because it determines not only how much of a ascribe the power pack can shop, but how much it power it can send out before it furthermore desires recharging.

It will charge the D4 at least 5 times before it needs recharging itself
