please help, saving apps to sd card

I have searched the forum, but I havent seen anything telling me how to save my apps to my sd card, I ran out of room on my phone but can't find an option to saving pictures and apps to my sd its a brand new 8g card so I know there is room on there. Thanks for any and all help

Go to application manager and open each app their is a prompt "move to SD card"

Menu...settings...applications...manage applications....open each app and move to SD card.

Hmm nope that didn't seem to work, I did not have an option for moving options are uninstall, clear cache, clear defaults and force stop (the last 3 where not highlighted so I can't even open them up)

unless you are rooted and have a 2.2 or 2.3 rom installed, you can't move apps to sd on the eris.
