Please Help !!! Ebook from PC to my TB

I have tried everything I can think of and im about to throw my Alienware out the window... Yes I have searched and I only came up with 1 post saying to get KOBO the download Stanza( which I didnt find anywhere) and well I'm back to square 1.
I have all my James Patterson ebooks saved to my laptop. It says Text file, Now im not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to doing this stuff but im ok...
I hope that made sense and PLEASE help
