Ok - so I tried to install the update today and now I am stuck.

I only get the bootloader screen (after the red M) and it says...

Battery OK
OK to program
Connect USB
Data Cable

I have tried connecting to RSD and have not been able to re-load any thing
It gives me the error:
failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file. (0x7029). phone connected.

I have tried using all combinations of buttons on the phone and am out of options at this point.

I thought doing the gingerbread update would be easy, but apparently I was not ready for the update in some way.

Any help would be great - I am really dead in the water without my phone.

Also... from the directions

YES - Your phone is running the 2.3.340 official Froyo Firmware
YES - with Z4Root - Your phone has been rooted
YES - uninstalled DX and installed D2 - Your phone is using the Droid2 Bootstrap program (Do Not Use DroidX Bootstrap)

Are you sure you have a valid, working sbf file? Check over at mydroidworld for a good copy if you need it.

EDIT: Also, check out post #5 by redwood36 - that fixed my problems with "failed flashing process" and now I can SBF perfectly. Not sure if it's the same problem you're having, but maybe worth a shot.

Thanks for the quick replies - doesn't seem to matter which SBF I use - I have a few from past playing and nothing can get through to the phone using RSD.

In the flash error log I have:

and I just can't get anything to flash.
There is no way to do a factory rest as I can't get to anything other than the bootloader screen - it's like there is nothing at all on the phone.

All right - I downloaded RSD 4.8 and it connected and is in the process of updating. I am going to try the base files and then do the gingerbread update again - now that I know I can get it back to working at this point.

yeah you have to make sure you have the most current version of RSD lite or else you will run into problems. I have v4.9 but 4.8 should work too.
