"Play music" player and data usage question.

I believe my music is stored on my sim card. Is Play Music player using data every time I use the player? How do I stop "Play Music" from unnecessarily sucking away valuable data? It shouldn't be "streaming" if the music is on my sim?

Play music will use data to retrieve "like" music recommendations which you will see pop up from time to time. The only way I know of to avoid such data mining (other than to shut down data connections) is to use a third party player that doesn't give recommendations.

Also.. your music can be stored either on your phone or the sdcard-ext.. you'll need to look on my files to be sure. :)

Opps, sdcard-ext is what I meant my music is currently on (transfered from my computer), not "sim card". Thanks for the suggestions, I guess my follow up question would be what is the best third party player that doesn't rape my data. I can not even use pandora streaming or netflix because it seems "something", and I'm guessing it's my music player, is using up my 4gigs like nothing. Which is pretty unfair/lame since I'm only using the music on my sdcard-ext. Is there also a way to check what's using up all my data?
