Picture doesn't show up

When I take pictures and go to view them in the gallery, some of them show a box with an icon of a mountain and a piece of film. I try e-mailing it to my e-mail but when I open it, it just show the same icon. Then when I try to post it on Facebook, it says that the photo cannot be displayed. What's wrong here?
