Earlier this week we shared some rumint regarding a potential NVIDIA Android gaming console. We don't have anything new to report on that front, but we do have a solid leak regarding NVIDIA's upcoming gaming Android tablet.
It's called the NVIDIA Shield Tablet, and it could be one of the best things to come to Android gaming. In fact, it's entirely possible their won't necessarily be an Android gaming console from NVIDIA because, with the proper input/outputs, this could easily become a portable gaming console.
For now that is mostly speculation on our part, but the technology points to this as a possibility. We do know that this device is supposed to come with the NVIDIA Tegra K1 SoC. If the newly leaked NVIDIA gaming controller is meant to pair with this device, then we might be on the money with this guess.
Either way, it's still too early to count NVIDIA out of the fight. Android gaming is only just now evolving to reach a more mainstream gaming audience. This device could be a big step in that direction.
