Has anyone tried this and if so is it any good? I like the idea of being able to dial a # right on your home screen but still feel like unless were no icons on it, would still look clunky and disorganized..

I was playing around with it today, it's a cool concept, it gives you one-click access to your call log, or to re-dial your last call right from the home screen.
I use the Tag Home launcher which gives you four buttons at the bottom, one of which I set as the phone, so the widget makes it kinda redundant.
As an FYI, it's a 1x4 widget as well, I love how they don't tell you
