Phone turns itself on

Since the software update, my Droid 2 would turn it self on after a complete shutdown whenever an e-mail or call was received. I switched to a Droid 3 and the first night the same thing happened in the middle of the night. i have checked all settings and can't find one that could cause or control this. Motorola seems to be aware of the problem but no fix has been forthcoming. Any suggestions?

My Droid 2 Global does this ever since I updated it to Gingerbread (only about a week ago). Every night I power it off and I wake up to find it back on again.
