Phone screen on randomly

Has anyone seen their Droid screen turn on and off by itself at random times when the phone is not in use? This is happening to my friend's Droid, it's running on everything stock. It was not a phone call, sms, calendar event, alert, etc that triggered the screen. Sometimes, the screen will go off faster than the others. What the heck could be causing this unusual behavior? :icon_eek:

Is it plugged in? Sometimes certain cables and chargers can cause this and other strange things to happen.

Do you have handcent? Check out your settings because when i had it on screen on for pop up my screen would just randomly turn on even though there was no incoming texts. Also be sure your droid is not near anything metal, this will cause the droid to auto dock it self ( Dock blocker app available to prevent this ) or will try to go into car mode causing the screen to turn on.

It happens to me occasionally too, never though handcent would be the reason. I just ignore it.
