Phone only turns on if its pluged in

Ok so this is weird really just started I have a full battery but if I take it off the charger it shuts off and doesn't turn on unless I plug it back in. I tried taking the battery out but that didn't do anything. Any ideas on what it could be because I really need my phone for work
