my phone says it uses 36% of the battery when the phone is idle. what does this mean? how can i bring this down

Turn the phone off while not using it or use it for web browsing more or make more calls. Mine is at 24% for the current charge, but sometimes is much higher because I'm not using the phone but it is still on. As long as it is turned on the CPU is still running.

The higher this number the longer your battery life will be. Idle means the phone is not really doing anything, and using the least battery it can without being turned off.
