pc mode won't work

I plugged my droid x into my laptop and when I turn it on PC Mode it doesnt really do anything , i get no pop ups or anything. Can anybody show me what I should do to get it work? thanks

cdurcii: Hey there I encountered the same problem as you. It was driving absolutely insane. I tried everything and looked up every way I could think of. Then it hit me, what settings did I cahnge before this happened. So by process of elimination I found it. 1. Turn off debugging mode and connect the Droid X. 2. The driver will be installed. 3. Then afterwards, debugging mode can be turned back on. If you run into this problem, to turn off USB debugging mode, press the Menu key when you're at the Home screen or a pane, then select Applications -->Development. Tap the green check next to USB debugging to turn it off.
