Partition internal storage for use as "Fake" SD Card?

My SD Card just failed and I was wondering if their is any way to partition the internal storage of a Droid X (8GB) and mount as a SD Card?

This came up in a Google search...I was wondering if the OP ever figured this out?

I just figure that the 8GB of the Droid X is wasted...I don't have a spare SD card and while I COULD buy one, I'd rather just do what the OP suggested. Anyone try this?

I use my DX's internal memory /data/media/ as sdcard, write in terminal:
su
mount -o bind /data/media /sdcard
