ota's and the such

ok my brief history
so i cleaned my slate yesterday. (almost had a heart attack) but were past that and now my dear bionic is clean no root nuthin.
i just got TiBu pro so i feel the need to get back at that root...
and rom.
my question is.
if i'm say on the safe side and on a gummy 1.2.3 ics rom
how does moto send out their ota that i'm sighned up for (that whole email business) i dont want to brick my phone cause they send me an update and i'm in ics. idk how this works.
should i stay stock waiting for the test to run out? or would i be fine being in safe side on a rom.

So let me make sure I'm understanding you.

You're signed up for soak tests with moto, and your rooted and running a rom. And you want to know what will happen if they send you the ota???

I'm not rooted, but if this is what your asking, you can be rooted, but you can't have any bloat deleted, frozen yes.

As far as the rom, I think you need to be stock but I'm not 100%.

works for me i'm on stock right now. but if i can root mainly for the wifi i like using. i'm good to go thank you very much.

Yes, you need to be stock. You will know when the soak drops because the community will be raving about it.

Also something else I learned tonight on the moto forum...

If you get an invite for the soak, after completing the app, do not do a fdr if you can help it. And if you do, you need to contact moto through the help link on the email so that they can get you back up and running.

Idk why, but that's what one of the more.knowledgeable moto xperts was saying.
