Opinion: why no 3d blur?

As its been reported 2.3.4 still doesnt have the 3d blur like the droid 3 and bionic. Of course this is all subjective but anyone have any ideas as to why we would be left out that UI? Surely the phone could handle the graphics.

it definitely does not have the same blur. I really want the contact widget, someone please port it to the X2.
