Besides several missing features and the return of the infamously bad invite system, it looks like there is another reason to be disappointed by the new OnePlus 2. According to the latest data on its internals, it doesn't have a CDMA radio that is compatible with Verizon's network. That means there will be an army of US customers who are basically locked out of using this device.

Here are the network bands supported by the OnePlus 2 according to the most currently released info:
  • GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
  • WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
  • FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17
How many of our users are disappointed by this?

Yup. Good thing they're releasing another device later this year...Forget about the fact that it's very difficult to get the other devices they've already launched. Let's just throw in not supporting the biggest carrier in the US while we're at it.

How does one add radios exactly? Is it hardware or software or what? This has been a mystery to me for a while now...

The actual radio is hardware related, however you can flash various kernels that may improve upon the physical radio in your device.

Not surprised one bit, Its like every other unlocked gsm phone. The only company that adds Verizon radios to their phones is Motorola.
