You guys are lunatics. A newbie turns up and for his/her first post puts up what appears to be the 2.1 rom and you go wild and I bet as soon and if it is posted you will be installing it. Far more trusting than me I can assure you. Here's hoping all your personal info doesn't end up where it can harm you. I am not stating this is definately a major way of Phishin but it dammed well could be.

Some of us know enough about Android to know if its legit or not.

here's a quickie....if you have to be rooted to put this in..but didnt the 2.0.1 update can be done manually..and y cant 2.1 be done manually

Here are the instructions for manually updating to 2.0.1

It seems to me that should work again for 2.1 in the file format was correct.

Below are the instructions for applying 2.0.1 manually without waiting for OTA Update.

• Grab this file https://xxxxxxxx ... xxxxx.zip
• Rename the file to update.zip and place it the root directory of your SD Card.
• Power off the phone.
• Power on the phone, while holding the 'X' on the physical keyboard.
• When you see the triangle and !, press Volume Up + Camera button.
• Navigate to "apply update.zip" and press the gold button (center) on the D-Pad. Now it will install.
• Reboot phone (should take 3-4 minutes).

Your DROID is now running 2.0.1 instantly without waiting.

Everything is the same but he's running the new baseband that was not leaked. I've read its a radio upgrade over what was leaked. So that's the only real difference between what he's running and the leaked sbf.

Just started uploading, it actually appears that the test they sent out thursday is the same exact thing that was leaked as an sbf file earlier, the only difference is that this one says ESE53 rather than all the test-key text in the system info. I'll still post the nandroid of this one though when it finishes uploading.

How big of a file is it?

Is this real or a Hoax? I sort of feel like the day we were watching the runaway balloon with "a boy inside".

People like myself that have no interest in rooting. While the rooted owners may be the majority on this site, they are still a vast minority of overall owners.
