Novice, considering Rooting

I see there are different ways stickied to root my ReZound, it seems like there is so much to it though, and being a novice, its a little intimidating.

I know it is said that you can brick your phone trying, but i see other people saying that you can usually "unbrick" Is rooting pretty safe now or do I really chance totally ruining my phone?

Also do I loose all of my Apps, or can I back them up somehow?

First, let me say that bricking your Rezound is hard...VERY VERY HARD. Like so hard you'd actually have to be trying to do so. Having said that check out the guide in my sig. I wrote it and I think it's fairly easy to understand. As far as your apps go, they will get removed, however they can all be re-installed very simply from the market. The fact is that you need root to be able to effectively backup an Android phone.
