On my razr my Google talk messages show up at the top of the screen. Is it possible for emails to do the same? Like maybe tell me who its from?

I'd like to just see more than just new email.

If I only have one new message, mine shows the sender and the subject of the message. If there is more than one message it does only show the number of messages.

You could try the e-mail widget. It is kind of nice and it lists all of your recent unread e-mails. Unfortunately you do seem to have to have a separate widget for each e-mail account.
