notifications from text messages vs emails

Hi all, I am working on notifications for incoming emails and text messages. I would like to hear a notification from incoming text messages only, and not from incoming emails. Is there a way to disassociate the two in settings? I cannot find a way to do that on my droid razr hd...

Do it from each respective program and NOT in SETTINGS > SOUNDS.
In Settings > Sounds set DEFAULT NOTIFICATION SOUND to NONE.
Then go into the Email program and set a Notification there. Then go into Messaging and set a different notification there.
Profit.
