Ok, this has me confused.

When on a call I get a BEEEP! its so loud I think my caller hears it and I pause....turns out it is a text or email notification and not another caller calling in. How do I tone that down or differentiated that from another caller calling in?

Sorry I am kind of new to the Droid 2 but i don't understand all the various notifications and how to separate them.

Go into Settings>Sound>Incoming Calls>select what you want to use, then underneath it Notifications and repeat.

Thanks, but that isn't what is going on.

when on a call, I get a LONG loud "beep" that sounds like another caller calling but its not a call, its a notification and that is not the notification I have set for notification.

Does that help?

Do you have any third party messaging apps enabled, like Handcent?

Why does it require 150 MB of additional content to run?

Yes I am running handcent.

Nice pick up. I checked the sound settings and the "sound on calls" is not checked.

Are you running any ringtone apps such as Whoisit or Ringo? They have the same option and are on by default.
