Hey gang, I got my D2G last week and have already rooted it and done some clocking stuff. What next?

Kidding, but not really.

Anyway... I would like to do things like change my lock screen, home screen style, and system sounds. Presumably simple stuff. So far it looks less simple than jailbreaking my iTouch, but I am not yet disuaded.

If I am reading correctly, I need to get Fission to make things happen, yes? Where is the most recent D2G version hiding?

I guess my problem with fission is finding the most recent D2G version, I seem to keep running in circles and not actually finding the links I need. TeamDefuse's site hasn't really been too helpful in this all, and was down when I started looking this morning, and hasn't been updated for nearly a month.

You only need Fission 2.4.3 for the D2G for starters. You can look around on here for info on using other ROM's (or not!) but Fission is the best starting place. There are guides on here to lead you through the process. Good luck!

Any ideas on why my battery has been disappearing since I installed Widgetlocker? Something like 40% overnight as I slept.

Welcome to D2G world!! Battery life is the primary major complaint with these phones. If you are or plan to root, read the sticky at the top of D2G forum entitled My Battery Life Writeup. NiceGuysFinishLast has done an outstanding job of writing up his methods for dealing with it. Follow his lead as closely as possible, and your battery should last much longer.

Oh, and if you find anything else out, be sure to let us all know about it!

Figured out what I was doing wrong wit FRM, and got it running. I was just not reading correctly, lol.

And the battery thing I figured out too. Widgetlocker and widgetsoid were having much fun with my battery. Adding in my battery monitor and CPU clocker (I like data!), they were chewing through about 35 mbs of RAM. Widgetlocker used about 12 at idle.
