After receiving the standard dock and noting, unlike the standard dock for my Droid 1, that my laptop cannot access files on my Bionic when it's resting in this dock, I found a statement in the dock's documentation stating that the standard dock cannot be connected to a PC. So I called Verizon technical support and asked "which of the Bionic's docks enable a PC to access the Bionic?". The support representative did not know, so she got a Motorola support representative on the line. I carefully explained my objective. He assured me that the "HD Multimedia" dock would allow PC access to my Droid's files. My "HD Multimedia" dock arrived this morning: it provides no mini-USB connector for connection to a PC. I called Motorola, and was told by the support representative that none of the Bionic docks permit access to the Bionic from a PC.
