No mobile data while on the phone?

Is this true or is there a setting that allows it? Is this an Edge thing or a Note issue?

Can you explain your problem a little more and/or what you're trying to do?

When on a phone call the Edge displays a message that "mobile data is not available so you (I) won't be able to surf, or check mail".

Ugh, Ok, so I came across this thread No data while on a phone call? | Android Forum at DroidForums.net

Apparently you have to enable "Advanced Calling" to allow data and voice at the same time. The problem for me is that I'm on the Unlimited Data plan and don't want to make a change to my account that is going to drop the plan.
