Some Pokemon Go Fest attendees are filling a class action lawsuit against Niantic. The one year anniversary celebration sold out tickets quickly, and even players who couldn't attend supposed to be able to participate with some special real time events and in game activities. Some paying attendees were not able to actually play the game due to the game not working.
Attendees are seeking to reclaim travel expenses. Niantic has already given ticket refunds and other perks like $100 credit to the game. The group's attorney Thomas Zimmerman says this isn't enough. There were some attendees who traveled internationally to be at the event. This put them several thousand dollars in the hole to travel a defunct event. Niantic has made other promises they have failed to keep. In response to the suit Niantic has postponed the European Pokemon GO Safari Zone event. They have not made any official comments on the matter.
