Newb HELP!

I had a samsung fascinate and I wanted a change so 3 days ago I got a Droid X2. So I have a few questions. First question is, how do I apply launcher pro plus as my launcher? I keep trying but I cant make it default launcher. Homeswitcher wont find a default launcher, help? Second question is, gingerbread? Seen a lot of talk about it but havent gotten the update. Is there a download for it somewhere? If so, is it safe and how do I apply it? Third thing is, any customization I can do without root? Im a newb so any help would be appreciated.

HI, ok so what I did to make a new launcher the default is press the home key and a menu should pop up asking which launcher to load make sure you press the check mark to make it default then press on the launcher pro.

Next, As for the GB update, according to a soak tester the update should go live this Tuesday or Wednesday. The GB files that are floating around are the same update that you will get eventually as well as a pre-rooted one.

Lastly, for customizations that do not need root you should try a Google search or visit the app market and try themes for launcher pro.

Thank you. When I press home it just goes home. haha. I know what youre talking about when it says choose the default launcher. I saw that on my fascinate but not on the x2?!

hmmmm have you tried pressing home while in a menu like settings?

Yup haha and it just brings me home. And when Im in homeswitcher and I check it says I have no default launcher so I dont understand why the menu you were talking about wont pop up?

ok so umm how about try resetting all phone defaults in the settings menu. umm I forgot what the path is.

depends on if you want the normal GB update or the pre-rooted one.

I didn't know there was a pre-rooted gb update. Where can I get this also is this the best option if I want to root my phone. or is it better to wait and get the update from verizon then root? My droid is rooted already.

Also about sbfing.... do I need to download this before I would need it our could I just just download it when I need it?

Yes GB has been pre-rooted by P3droid and I am using it now dancedroid
the link with instructions for the pre-rooted GB is this:

Getting the normal GB update is a different method I will have to look for the file and instructions for that one.
