I'm new and trying to clear the cache on my wifes d1...I can get it to the triangle with the exclamation in it but, I can't get it into the menu......so how to get it into the menu from that point?

Thats stock recovery I believe. Not sure, I don't have a d1 anymore. You have to be rooted to clear cache and boot into a custom recovery like clockwork recovery or sp recovery.

With phone off, hold x button and power on and that will get u to recovery screen as long as you rooted and have a custom recovery such as clockwork.

You can do it in stock recovery by pressing the volume rocker and camera button at the same time after you get the triangle. Welcome to the site btw.
