How does a phone with a quad-core Snapdragon S4, a 4.3-inch 720p Display, 2GB Ram, Jelly Bean & MIUI ROM for only $310 bucks (unsubsidized) sound? That's what the lucky folks in China will be getting soon. The company Xiaomi just announced their latest flagship device the Xiaomi Phone 2, and it is a monster device for a very cheap price. Sadly, there's no indication that the device will ever go anywhere except China, but we can keep our fingers crossed. Here's a full spec breakdown:
  • 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 CPU (Adreno 320 GPU, 28nm)
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB memory
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • 4.3" 720p IPS display
  • 2,000mAh battery
  • 8MP rear camera, 2MP front
  • 10.2mm thick
  • MIUI ROM
This new phone will be launching in October for 1,999 yuan.

well...heres this from engadget-
Update 2: Forgot to mention that both devices support WCDMA 850、1900 and 2100MHz. So yes, it'll work just fine on AT&T!

Wait, so if you get one on ebay, you could run it on the USDM radio towers?

edit

I'm sure chinaphonesellers or someone else will have the up for sale soon. There's a Jaiyu that I'm watching to see how the development goes.

Since it looks like an iPhone, or close to it, it will not make it to the US, as all mighty "we invented oxygen" Ap:icon_ devil:ple will sue the hell out of them, LOL.

Not that I'd buy this, but will it work on US GSM carriers? Pre-paid GSM?

Several posts up metalspring posted the bands it supports and that it will work on AT&T, so yes, it should work here in the states. With anyone but Verizon, of course.
