Hello everyone!! I have had my droid for about 4 months and i think i am in love. I love my phone so much my girlfriend often has to tell me to put it down. So I had a question, I had rooted my phone with cyanogen but downloaded the 2.1 update off of the forum today and had a successful install but I still have superuser ninja in the apps drawer. Am I still rooted? Will I be able to go back? Appreciate whatever help you can give. Thanks

when I go into about phone it says 2.1update1 like it should...when i go into setcpu it says I am not rooted...i installed the update twice and it said it worked both times..

The easiest way to check is to see if you have the "Super User Permissions" ninja icon in your app drawer. If you do not, then you are not rooted. If it's there, you're still rooted.

when i try to flash clockworkmod recovery it say
an error occurred while trying to run privileged commands...
I am really at a loss here...

I only have a backup w/clockwork and not dm updater and at this point i don't even care if i use it. I just want my phone to go back to stock. I can't get dm updater to even install, it just says that it is aborted...i have all my contacts and apps saved through Google so I don't care if i have to wipe my phone really...

What comes up when you power off and hold x then power on?

Ok so when I power off the phone and boot into recovery it has the triangle with the ! But when I try to update from sd card it comes up saying aborted. I tried to do a factory wipe and reset last night and when it rebooted I still have super user ninja in app drawer and it still says 2.1 update 1 in the about phone. I have multi touch in the browser, 3 home screens and, speech to text so it appears as though the update worked but why do I still see the ninja? What should I do?

Since 2.1 isn't rooted yet there's not a whole lot you can do to remove it. If you want to you can load the 2.0.1 sbf through RSD lite. then redo the update to 2.1.

i feel like i am starting to get in over my head...i started to download the the file and in the instructions it ask me to install the files...is that something i am putting in my phone root or on my computer? also it says to put your system in admin, and i have a mac and have no clue how i would go about that. I am starting to think i should just stop messing with it for fear of really breaking.

yeah I would stop now. I don't think it works on mac. Start a thread in the Hacking help section and someone may be able to point you in the right direction to help you out.
