Hey.
I'm new to the forums here - surprise - and I'm a long-time Droid user that is now getting involved in development. Long story short, I have a web design background and I took a job that involves creating mobile training apps for both Android and iOS wrapped in PhoneGap and using HTML5, jQTouch, etc. I've gotten comfortable with the iOS side and now I'm working with porting a mostly complete app from iOS to Android. I have a little background in Eclipse from college, so I'm getting back in to that mindset. I'd like to go further and work with Java.
I came across this forum while searching for a solution, and given the size and resources, I thought it worthwhile to join.
My degree is in English - bad experience with the University in Engineering - and my computer knowledge is primarily self taught. My hobbies are my faith (Christianity), messing around with web design, and reading. I'm a bit of a paradox in that I have a strong literature mind, but I enjoy the logic of programming as well.
I hope not just to be a lurker here, but I have a good bit to learn. I had the original G Phone back in the day, and I am currently a Droid X owner. I'm not an expert can-do-anything kinda guy, but I would like to get to that point. My contract will be up soon, so I'll be in the market for a new phone. I'll be honest in that I am considering the iPhone, but I'm still partial to Droid.
(Believe it or not, that's shorter than my usual introductions on forums...)
