New to Droid and Forums - HTC Evo

Hi All,

just got this thing on Friday, coming from the Blackberry world, so this is my first dive into the Droid.

So far some mild irritations, mostly resulting from my very low intelligence, but i'm hoping this forum will help me out.

It gets better don't worry! Search through the screenshot sections and you can get a great idea of some useful apps and how to arrange neatly.

Evo is a great looking phone!

for widgets, you can do what you're doing: use the "+" sign or hold like everyone else said.

regarding your email. if you open up the email, then select menu at the bottom (one of the four softkeys) then you can go to "more" then settings. There should be a send and receive option in which you can change the frequency that it downloads/syncs. Of course the more it syncs, the more it waste battery. but if you're using gmail, it's a push email so you don't to refresh/sync.

congrats on the phone.

Cant help with your questions... just here to congratulate you on your purchase. My buddy got one yesterday and its pretty damn sweet... I'm jealous :)

If I hide the keyboard in horizontal, there is a send button, pretty good solution.

Battery life is already an issue. Barely stays alive for my normal day, 7am to 11pm, with minimal palying around. Glad I got the car charger for when I'm on the road.

The email sync is driving me nuts.

Thanks again for all the help.

Oh, for those who have not actually held this phone is is almost too big. The screen is awesome, but I have large hands and the top lock button is hard to operate one handed.

Wondering if they will make an evo specific forum haha.

Wow, the evo already has speak to text built in. Is this a normal droid thing?

works pretty good too.
