New OS update for Pro?

How do I find out when there is a new OS update to download / update on my phone? Just wondered if - when it is available - an OS update will help to eventually iron out some of the frustrating kinks and improve battery life and other functions.

You will automatically be notified. Or you can go to Settings, About Phone, then System Update.

I think we may need to wait a bit. I thought 2.3 may have rolled out for certain devices. Maybe someone else can elaborate further.

As far as I know 2.3 hasn't officially rolled out to any devices OTA and as far as our Pro getting Gingerbread love, I'm gonna say it will be at least 2 months or so. Hopefully less.

Droid Pro Update Available

Droid Pro owners should check their device for a system update this morning! Just checked mine (8:00 am CST) and one was available....downloading as we speak!

Not sure if it is because I signed up for the Motorola Feedback Network last night or what, but I'll report back later! If you did not receive, I would suggest going to the site below and signing up...

Hope everyone is getting this! Update is shown as 2.26.60 en :icon_ banana:dancedroid:icon_ banana:

I just manually checked my DPro for the update and it was available for download. Thanks StingRay.

Installing now, so I'm not sure what's changed.

If anyone has a connection problem with their corporate exchange account after updating, delete the account and add it back...I had a problem after update and now connection is fine...

will have to give it some time to see what effect this update has on syncing....

If this update is related to the other post about a Moto invite, then this update should also improve call quality and blue tooth...here's hoping...:icon_ banana:

I was unable to update, each time it failed.

I unrooted, deleted all user data and reset the phone. And it still wouldn't work.

I believe this is because I uninstalled some alps like amazon mp3 and other bloatware and titanium is unable to reinstall these without having an apk.

So I guess I am screwed until we get a backup rom to flash or someone can provide me with the bloatware apks.

Same thing here. I deleted stuff I shouldn't have. apk's can be found here in post 21:

How do I flash completely back to factory so I can apply the update? I don't see an RUU out there yet.

Hmm I checked for an update but its grayed out....?? Maybe I didn't look in the correct place?

Settings....system update?

Has anyone been able to verify whether the call quality has in fact been improved with this update? The reason I ask is that I’d been considering a Droid Pro but was hesitant due to widespread complaints about poor call quality.

Thanks!

Well after 12 hours into the new update, I'm having mixed results....

call quality during one 40 minute call seemed to be a little better...tough to tell on one call though...

as far as corporate syncing, I'd have to say "epic fail"...somehow they made the push even worse...did not push correctly during the 12 hour period and all but once I had to open the email app to sync email....only actually pushed once on it's own....

did notice that the icon for Voice Commands changed, so hopefully the issues I was having with not recognizing commands was solved....

My update also failed. Interesting: I have two Droid Pros in my house: one is mine and is on a corporate account (update failed); the other is my spouse's on a personal account (update succeeded). Both are rooted; both have had apk's removed. Both have Droid 2 boostrapper/CWM recovery.

Suggestions? I really want this update! Where would the install file download to? I've checked everywhere. Perhaps I could manually install?

I've never used the stock email app for corporate. I've used Touchdown. It's definitely worth the money.
