Hi all. I've been lurking the site for a few days and I can tell I'm stepping into more than I thought with this phone. It's gonna become an obsession I can see.

Does anyone mind pointing me in the right direction to learn all about personalizing my home screen? I've been trying on my own but with no luck. I'm not understanding 70% of the terminology.

I'm sure you probably know you can add/remove widgets from the home screen.
But if you don't, then long press an empty spot on the screen and the list will come up.
You can get home replacements from the market such as LauncherPro and ADW.launcher. There are others too, but those are the most popular.
You can root your phone to customize it even more, though if you don't know what rooting is, I would recommend reading up on it before you do it.

Edit- I see you have a global so I wouldn't recommend flashing roms yet because theres no sbf.

Thanks, TB. The widgets and stuff im semi familiar with. Rooting I have nooooo idea about. Right now im just trying to figure out how to change my skin and icons.

Go with a home replacement then until your more familiar with rooting. there are TONS out there. I'll try and find guides for some of them for you. One sec

Thanks! I was gonna dl launcherpro icon n docks. I wanna delete some home screens and change my icons. I just don't know what goes w what. There's SO much.

You can have 1-7 home screens. and in case you didn't know, you have 3 docks so if you slide your dock left or right you can access the others. and the best part is its all completely customizable. You can change your docks look and all your icons.

I like this much better. I have only 3 screens which is enough for me and then the bottom thing (what's that called?) that slides too. I set all my apps and stuff where I want them next is to conquer the changing of icons.......

You can change the icons to whatever you want, even a regular picture of something you took. Long press the shortcut in the dock and a list of options will come up. Hit change icons-> custom icon.
If you go to the site i posted from the phone's browser and save the icons, you will be able to change them later from the options i gave you. you dont have to use those icons though. you can use what ever you want. If you put a shortcut on your home screen it lets you pick the name and the icon.
If you wanted to, you could change your dock too.
Preferences-> Appearance Settings-> Dock Background
