Hi,

I have my first new phone in eight years (Treo755p was literally dying) so this is a bit of a learning curve for me. I love the ability to use the smart apps function to make the phone silent based on location. Do you know if anyone has written an app to silence it for an appointment or meeting & automatically turn it back on afterwards? I nearly always forget to turn the sound back on. It's a problem because I often work from home so location doesn't work as a filter.

Thanks,

Maggie

Welcome to DroidForums Maggie!! Sorry to say I do not know an app that does that. I will take a look around and see what I can find and in the meantime hopefully someone who knows will drop on by and help us out.

Tasker can do this albeit on the more difficult side to utilize and set up.

I use silent sleep, which turns my phone on silent during hours I specify. You would have to manually do it everytime, but its the easiest thing I got for you!

I use "Shush! Ring restorer." It automatically comes up when you turn your phone to vibrate and you can specify when you want your volume to come back on and at what loudness! I think that's what you're looking for! :)

Oh... and welcome to da forumz! :D

Hi Folks,

Thanks for responding & for the warm welcome. I looked at the suggestions & browsed the market & checked out the feedback. It looks like Tasker is top rated and will silence the phone for events rather than just locations. I'm going to try that & see how it goes. Thanks for getting me started in the right direction.
Maggie
