I just bought my 1st smartphone & a DROID. I bought it since I have VERIZON and live on a boat for several months of the year. V seems to have better coverage. I am a total newbie to smartphones so I hope to learn a lot on this forum.

My first look for an APP is for a decent address book. I have used the Palm desktop for years and like it but I don't like to Google one. Any suggestions for address/contact/datebook ( free or paid) will be appreciated.

I'm also looking for a nautical map program like Active Captain. It doesn'y currently work on the DROID and I don't think it's in the developers current plans. So, i would like to find a nautical charting program. Glad to be here.

My wife was a Palm user from the very beginning and she's still not happy with the transition to the Droid. But she's getting there slowly after six weeks of use. Still hasn't totally abandoned the Palm, though.
