It looks like the end of 2012 could be the season of the "phablet," or perhaps the beginning of a larger future trend. Sony is jumping into the extra-large phone category with their newest device, and some new pics and specs have leaked for it. The phone's codename is the "Yuga," and it has the model number C660X. It also looks to be fairly competitive. Here's a breakdown of what the latest intel shows for this device,
  • 5" 1080p display
  • 1.5GHz quad-core processor (likely S4 Pro)
  • 2GB RAM
  • 12MP rear shooter with dedicated camera button
  • Android 4.1.1 (for now)
Obviously these specs are pretty impressive, but for whatever reason, Sony has been having a hard time igniting any excitement in their mobile devices. Could this device break them out of that rut?

For now we don't have any details on pricing or availability, but we keep you informed.
