New here, and new to droids/smartphones

Hey folks. Just took the plunge and ordered my first smartphone yesterday(Couldn't pass up the deal I got). So, on it's way to me, is my first droid product, a Droid 3. Looking forward to participating in the community and possibly hacking(I believe it's called rooting on a droid) my phone up.
