New Droid X owner question

Hi. I just got my Droid X yesterday. So far I love it. I am not computer savvy at all. I am trying to put some music on it. I see some other posts but the computer talk is Greek to me. Can someone explain to me how go go about putting music on this phone in simple terms? Thanks for your help in advance.

Connect your phone to the computer with your data cable. With windows you can rip it straight from the cd to your sd card. Look in the notification bar and you will see two icons. Select the one that connects your phone to the computer to allow data sharing. If the music is stored on your computer, select the tracks you want (hold the shift key down to multi-select), then chose either "send to" or right click and copy. Open "my computer" and select your phone. It should be labeled "removable storage device" kind of like a thumb drive. You can create a new music folder if one isn't already on your card. Open the music folder, right click, paste. It should move all your selected tracks to the folder. If I missed anything, someone will post a correction im sure. Good luck and welcome to the forums!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the help. I managed to get some tunes on the phone. I think I will be taking advantage of the pandora app a little more than my library. Thanks again.

Hi, I am a new member to the droid x world. I have been reading posts and I am still somewhat confused. First. I have apps running all the time. I downloaded the advanced task killer (hit the kill button) but apps continue to run after i've killed them. Also, at the bottom of the screen while i'm in the kill selected apps screen i get banners on the bottom how do i get rid of that and is it using memory/battery?

Con, the only way yto get rid of those banners is bu rooting your phone. As for the running apps, android is set up where unused and used memory take up the same space/battery, so don't worry about running apps

like maderschramm said, task killer actually slows your phone. as far as the banners in the program, that is going to happen on 95% of free apps on the market, because thats how they can get money for their free app.

read this post including information from Google on task killers:

hope this helps
