New Droid user.......Where to start......

I'm getting my first ever smart phone. It's a Motorola Droid. I'm currently using the Lg Venus. A friend turned me on to this site. What should I do first to set the phone up when it arrives in the mail? Any info will help.

Start by having a gmail account. You will enter this when you first power on the device.

Since this is your first smartphone, and your first Android phone, you will likely have a lot of questions as you navigate the device and its functions. My advice is to approach each question with experimentation. As you struggle to figure one thing out on your own, you will learn ten other things in the process.
