New Droid owner from Idaho

Hi, I have ordered my Droid and will be receiving it next week and thought I would start learning some tips/tricks and have found this forum to be awesome.

What general things should I know about my Droid and the Verizon network? Such as I have read that Google Talk if used replaces the mobile to mobile call function and goes against your minutes but is it the same for SMS apps like Handcent?

What else do I need to know as a new user that is not already in the FAQ section?

Thank you

Welcome aboard!

Minutes aren't used when using text messaging.

Google Talk is an android app that works with g'talk and is an instant messenger. You might be thinking of Google Voice, which has been deployed to not use minutes in the past but I recall seeing something that is putting an end to that. Basically you used that GV number as one of your friends and family numbers and all calls got forwarded to/from that number.

I'm from Idaho Falls, ID, But I am in AZ now. Reception is great and 3G data speeds are nice and snappy in Idaho Falls!
