New beast 2.1 and Unable to start wifi tether

Hi everyone. I usually don't start threads. I typically search existing threads and thanks to the expertise and kindness of this great community, my phone typically stays on the cutting edge.

However, I installed bb 2.1 and lost utility of the wifi tether app that once worked on my rooted phone. Subsequently tried barnacle and still no go. When I saw the new beast release I updated, hoping that it would fix my wireless tethering problem. But still no go.

Can anyone help me.

Currently I am running next beast 1.1 with bekit 7*1000 kernel.

Willing to try anything.

Additional info that maybe helpful.....

When I try to start rootexplorer it gives theole restaqrt app due to difficulty with su permissions, but it never actuaqlly runs....then when I open up su it is blank.

Is it possible that I am no longer rooted and still running this sweet rom with adw launcher...and iother bells and whistles and if this is the case...would being nonrooted cause my wireless tether problem?
