Network Signal Booster Necessary?

Hey guys was at best buy today (picked up rocketfish 5V 2.1A charger for my RAZR Maxx $15) but I was looking at the Wilson Electronics Signal Booster. Averaging only 40-60% signal strength no issues with phone calls but data can waver at times. $300 major price sticking-point, worth the expenditure?
