I have tried gingerbreak, and also the one click root listed on www.redmondpie.com. Gingerbreak just locks up. One click reboots my phone twice and says it was successful, but neither busybox nor titanium backup can get root access.

Does anyone know if another way to root this version? Or do I have to SBF and start over with 2.3.3?

So I have tried Pete's One-Click method twice now, once on my 64 bit windows7 pc, and once on my 32 bit xp laptop, both say that they worked, but when i go to any root program, none can get root access.

I am running the OTA Android 2.3.4, system version 1.3.380MB870.Verizon.en.US.

Does anyone know of a way to root this that works, or do I need to SBF back to 2.2.2 and start all over?!?!

Find the 2.3.4 sbf file on here and just sbf that to the phone then use Pete's one click root. Worked for me just fine.
