Need android 2.2 back.

I recently reset my Droid Inc. and it restored back to 1.6.
Was wondering if there is any way to upgrade to 2.2.

That's really weird because the phone came out with 2.1. How did you reset the phone?

I unrooted it and now that you say that I must of used the wrong program to do it.
Is there any way to at least get it back to 2.1?

Sorry for the confusion. It is at 2.1. It reads 2.1-update-1.
Does that mean anything? And if not is there anyway to get it back to 2.2?

Unrooting would not change the OS version number. Describe EXACTLY what you did to UNROOT Did you install a stock rom using ROM Manager perhaps?

Went off this guys you tube video on how to unroot. Put zip file on sd card and loaded it and after all was said and done put my phone back to stock 2.1.

A link would help here but it sounds like you installed a 2.1 stock rom. Did his video not tell you that it was 2.1 stock?

Assuming that this is a stock and not rooted you should get prompted to download the update OTA just like when it first came out.

I would try to flash it again. Or do a factor reset first. Per the guys video you should get prompted for updates almost immediately. I don't know what state that flash will leave the s register. Most true stock flashes should take you back to Secure ON.

I don't own an Incredible so someone else might know what the deal is.

I just did a factory reset. Any idea when it will prompt for update? Also after factory reset, still has s-off. keeps searching for the file that that I put in to unroot. Should I wipe my sd card just in-case there is something still on it from when I unrooted?

If is is s-off I don't think you will get an update. Someone may have to correct me on that.

As for files on your sd card I can't answer that as I don't know how you rooted it to begin with but unless you have data there it couldn't hurt to wipe everything you can. But honestly it doesn't sound like you got a stock rom but a rooted rom.

I got it back to 2.2 by following dugs how to unroot correctly. Took a couple times but it worked. Thank u for all the help.
