What:
NCP engineering has released a preview version of its IPsec VPN client to support the remote access needs of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform users. The first third-party IPsec VPN client available for the operating system, the NCP Secure Android Client can seamlessly integrate with IPsec gateways from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, SonicWall and Microsoft Server 2008 R2, among others.

NCP's VPN software supports all technical communications and security standards including Internet Key Exchange (IKE) v1 and 2, IP address assignment via local IP address or IKE config mode, pre-shared key or PKCS#12 certificate support, XAUTH, and split and full tunneling network access.

Later this year, NCP will release further versions of its universal, Android-compatible IPsec VPN client to include a number of other important features such as central management capabilities for enterprise network administrators.

Who:
End users and enterprises that want to leverage the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)-based smartphones or tablets, while maintaining secure remote access to their corporate networks, require easy-to-use IPsec VPN client software like NCP’s.

When:

NCP’s new universal IPsec VPN client preview for the Android 4.0 platform is available beginning today and will expire on June 30, 2012.
